Expat Deported After Caught in Smartphone Smuggling at Kuwait Airport

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 21: A security source at Kuwait Airport has revealed the extent of the close monitoring in place to detect and prevent illegal activities. This surveillance begins with observing signs of confusion among individuals frequenting the airport, leading to their detention, interrogation, and thorough inspection of their luggage, whether upon arrival or departure. The entire airport is equipped with an advanced surveillance system and high-definition cameras, ensuring comprehensive coverage.

In a particularly unusual case, authorities monitored an expatriate who regularly visited Kuwait International Airport. This individual was observed on multiple occasions attempting to give smartphones to departing travelers headed to his homeland. After being observed performing this behavior more than ten times, the expatriate was arrested. Confronted with evidence of his actions, he admitted to profiting from this activity. As a result, the expatriate was deported and his name was added to the list of individuals prohibited from re-entering the country.
