MANAMA, April 10, (KUNA): The Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir is gearing up to host the fourth round of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship, taking place from April 11 to 13 under the slogan: "The Pulse of the Desert Never Stops."
Fierce competition is expected as top teams — including Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull, and McLaren — go head-to-head in what promises to be a high-octane showdown in the heart of the desert.
A staple on the motorsport calendar since 2004, Bahrain’s Formula 1 Grand Prix has grown into one of the most anticipated races globally. Set against the dramatic desert backdrop, the event draws speed lovers and motorsport fans from across the world.
The Bahrain International Circuit features 15 turns across a 5.412-kilometer track, designed to encourage overtaking and intense racing action. Held under the floodlights in the evening, the night race adds an extra layer of spectacle, further amplified by shifting desert winds and unpredictable weather — factors that test even the most experienced drivers.
Formula 1 drivers must be in peak physical and mental condition, balancing speed, precision, and strategic insight to pilot the sport’s fastest machines. To compete at this level, drivers undergo extensive training and must obtain a Super License from the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
Races take a significant toll on the body — drivers can lose up to 3-4 kilograms in a single Grand Prix due to heat and physical exertion. As such, strict dietary and hydration regimens are essential. Strategic tire management, pit stop timing, and overtaking plans are also critical to success on race day.
Beyond the track, the Bahrain Grand Prix has become a full-scale festival, featuring live music, entertainment shows, and family-friendly activities, offering fans an unforgettable experience.
Bahrain’s pioneering role in bringing Formula 1 to the Middle East in 2004 cemented its place as a premier destination on the F1 calendar. The Kingdom continues to deliver a world-class event that blends cutting-edge technology with high-speed drama.
Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al-Khalifa, CEO of the Bahrain International Circuit, reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to setting a global standard in hosting major international sporting events.
