KUWAIT CITY, Feb 7: The Criminal Investigation Department, represented by the Hawally Investigator team, has launched a search for two unidentified suspects who robbed an expatriate of 1,000 Kuwaiti dinars in cash and a 500-dinar check before fleeing to an unknown location. The expatriate, born in 1979, was unable to provide the license plate number of the perpetrators' vehicle but described it as a black American SUV.
According to the victim’s report, the incident occurred in Hawalli, Block 11, near a men's salon. While walking in the area, he was approached by two individuals in an SUV who posed as detectives and demanded to see his identification. As he retrieved his ID, one of the men placed handcuffs on his wrist and forced him into the vehicle. The suspects then searched him and stole his cash and check, warning him not to alert passersby. They also threatened to deport him and cause serious harm if he sought help, reinforcing their claim of being law enforcement officers.
The case has been classified as a felony, and detectives have begun analyzing surveillance footage and listing vehicles that match the victim’s description. Authorities are working to identify and summon suspects for questioning to establish their connection to the crime. The investigation remains ongoing as security forces intensify their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.
