KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: The Criminal Court convened to hear the case of a family—comprising a father, his two sons, and his son’s wife—who were charged with the murder of an Asian expat woman (son’s girlfriend) in Saad Al-Abdullah City in late December 2024. According to the prosecution, the crime occurred following a heated dispute between the son and the victim, which ultimately led to her death. During the altercation, the accused son brutally assaulted the woman using an Agal (a traditional cord used to secure a headdress (keffiyeh)) for an extended period until she succumbed to her injuries. His father was allegedly present during the attack but did not intervene. Following her death, the two carried her body to the rooftop, where they left it for ten days, struggling with their next course of action.
As time passed, the second son and his wife learned about the crime but chose to conceal the incident rather than report it to authorities. Eventually, the accused, with his father’s help, placed the victim’s body in a box, where it remained for two more days before they decided to dispose of it. They then dug a hole in their garden and buried her in an attempt to cover up the crime. During their first appearance before the Criminal Court, all four defendants denied the charges against them. Representatives of the victim, along with officials from her home country's embassy, were present at the hearing and called for the harshest possible punishment for the accused. The court has scheduled the next hearing for March 10 to allow further case review and evidence examination.
