KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28: Discarded old vehicle tyres, dead animals and car skeletons is what you see on both sides of the Wafra Road and some other parts in the area which is a pitiful sight as the Kuwaiti Municipality seems to have forgotten this area and the Environment Public Authority allowed the violators of the Environmental Law to distort this landscape of this agricultural city of Kuwait which once represented the green lung of Kuwait and the food tank of vegetables, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
As soon as a person climbs drives the Maghreb highway towards Al-Wafra, what awaits him is a lot of surprises as both sides of the street resemble a dumping ground for people who have built their stalls in the area and feel free to discard waste at will. If the perpetrators of these heinous acts are still unknown, then the responsibility for turning a blind eye falls on the shoulders of the Kuwait Municipality, the Environment Agency and other concerned institutions because it is clear they have abandoned their role and encouraged the violators of the environmental law to continued what they are doing unperturbed in an area that is supposed to be a basic food source for its crops
