Dubai, Oct 30 (Agencies) : A 22-year-old prisoner lost his life in Bahrain's Jaw Central Reform and Rehabilitation Centre, a high-security prison within the Kingdom, following a brawl among inmates, as confirmed by authorities.

The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed, and the incident occurred on a Friday afternoon at the facility.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras recorded the altercation, providing officials with a comprehensive timeline of events.

The confrontation between prisoners unfolded at approximately 12:39 pm on October 27, 2023. Prison authorities promptly intervened to regain control of the situation, but despite medical efforts, the inmate tragically did not survive.

The General Administration of Reform and Rehabilitation has emphasized its unwavering commitment to upholding the law impartially and ensuring that necessary measures are taken to address this distressing incident.
