KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8: Kuwait University and the Kuwait College of Science and Technology clinched their tickets to the semifinals of the Warba Bank Volleyball League for the third edition of the higher education sports games. They emerged victorious after defeating Saad Al-Abdullah Academy and the American University, setting the stage for a thrilling face-off against the College of Technology and the Public Authority for Applied Education.

The ultimate showdown will take place next Sunday, pitting the two triumphant teams against each other, while the semifinal runners-up will battle it out to determine the third-place finisher. Dr. Salman Haji, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Committee overseeing the tournament and a member of the School Union’s Board of Directors, affirmed that the volleyball league matches have been marked by intense competition as teams vie for a spot in the coveted semifinals. The champions and runners-up from the previous edition have successfully secured their places in the semifinals after leading their respective groups.

On another note, the Warba Secondary Football League entered its final stage following an exciting journey. Al-Waha High School earned their place in the final match by defeating Youssef Al-Athbi in a penalty shootout that ended 4-3, following a goalless draw during regular time.

The team from Mohammed Abdullah Al-Muhaini High School also clinched their spot in the final after a 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Sabah Al-Nasser High School, once again after a goalless regular time. The eagerly awaited final match is scheduled for next Monday at Al-Jahra Square Stadium.

In the Farwaniya area, today marks the commencement of the semifinal competitions. The first match will feature Salman Al Farsi High School against Anas, while the second match will see Shujaa bin Al Aslam square off against Al Jahez. These matches are part of the Warba Bank League for the secondary stage and will be held at the Al Nasr Club branch.
