KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: A security source has disclosed that a decision has been made to revoke the Kuwaiti citizenship of a Filipina woman who had obtained it under Article 8. The case has been described as a clear violation of national identity principles.
The woman initially gained Kuwaiti citizenship after marrying an elderly Kuwaiti man, who passed away just months later. Following his death, she married an Asian driver, a move seen as detrimental to the national identity.
The source highlighted concerns that the woman may push for her children from the second marriage to be treated as Kuwaiti citizens until they reach adulthood. Furthermore, she could eventually seek their naturalization, arguing they are the children of a Kuwaiti mother. This situation, if allowed to persist, could have broader implications for the integrity of Kuwait's national identity.
