COLORADO, March 12: Steven Barber, a filmmaker and former combat reporter, has honored Presidents Day by unveiling a statue of Donald Trump to cement his place in American history. According to an article published in Newsweek, the statue, which stands seven feet tall and weighs 680 pounds, is made of gold-painted bronze and sits atop a granite pedestal. It depicts Trump holding a “Make America Great Again” hat while raising his fist in a pose inspired by his reaction during the July 13 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. Barber, describing the statue as “the most impressive significant presidential monument in history,” believes the statue highlights American exceptionalism at its highest level.

The statue is currently in Colorado and is slated for transport to Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida, in the coming days. The statue project has attracted significant attention, with various prominent figures, including Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert and even President Trump. Barber, who has been friends with Trump since the early 2000s, emphasized that he has been trying to build the statue since 2016, and called the opportunity “divine providence.” However, Barber faced resistance due to the controversial nature of Trump’s political persona, which made it difficult to secure support. His fortunes changed when he learned of Anthony Constantino, CEO of custom printing company Sticker Mule, who made headlines in October for unveiling a massive “Vote For Trump” sign.

After reaching out to Constantino, Barber received a generous $275,000 donation, which helped push the project forward. The statue was created by Lundeen Sculpture, a Colorado-based studio responsible for other high-profile monuments like a statue of Amelia Earhart in the US Capitol and the Apollo 11 astronauts at the Kennedy Space Center. Barber is confident that this tribute to Trump will lead to more business opportunities, and he is already in discussions with Secretary of the Internal Affairs Doug Burgum about contributing more sculptures to Trump’s National Garden of American Heroes. This initiative, which aims to honor 250 significant American figures for the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026, had been abandoned under the previous administration but has been revived under Trump’s leadership.

Despite some reservations about certain policies and decisions made by the administration, Barber remains a strong supporter of Trump. He praised the current administration as “the greatest thing” and expressed satisfaction with Trump’s recent actions, such as taking a more combative stance after the 2022 FBI search at Mar-a-Lago. However, Barber did express concerns about some of the president’s more unusual policies, like banning plastic straws and eliminating the penny, noting that they seemed less urgent. He also voiced skepticism about Elon Musk’s involvement in the administration, stating that Musk might be better suited to focus on his own ventures, like SpaceX, rather than holding a political role. Nonetheless, Barber believes that Trump’s leadership and the resulting monuments will continue to resonate in American history.
