KUWAIT CITY, Jan 5: Firefighting teams successfully brought under control a fire that broke out in the National Evangelical Church building in the Al-Qibla area of Kuwait City on Saturday. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The Fire Department issued a statement Saturday evening, explaining that it had received a report about the fire, prompting swift action. Firefighting teams from the city, as well as from Al-Hilali, Hawally, and Al-Isnad centers, were immediately dispatched to the scene. These teams worked together to contain the blaze without any injuries occurring.
The fire, which caused material damage, broke out in two areas of the church: a prayer hall and the church library. Upon arriving, the firefighters began evacuating church staff and proceeded to fight the fire, successfully preventing it from spreading to other parts of the building. The affected area of the church covered approximately 400 square meters.
After extinguishing the fire, the firefighters conducted thorough searches and inspections within the building to ensure no additional fire hazards remained. A security source later confirmed that authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the fire, collaborating with the Fire Department and the Fire and Explosives Department of the General Department of Criminal Evidence.
