KUWAIT CITY, Jan 9: The Hawalli Governorate Investigation Department has launched an investigation into an assault involving five unidentified individuals who attacked a Bedoun and a Gulf national, leaving them injured. Medical reports documenting the injuries sustained by both victims have been submitted as part of the case file.

A security source revealed that surveillance footage from the restaurant and nearby areas will be reviewed to uncover the motives behind the altercation, which involved seven people, and to identify the perpetrators through their vehicles.

According to initial reports, the incident began when a Bedoun, born in 1992, and a Gulf national of the same age were dining at a well-known restaurant in Salmiya. They noticed suspicious looks from a group of young men seated at a nearby table. When they questioned the group about their behavior, the five young men reportedly launched an unprovoked attack on them in full view of other diners and restaurant staff.

The victims claimed they did not retaliate but acted in self-defense during the assault. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident and apprehend those responsible.
