Flashing red means wait, not accelerate

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4: The Ministry of Interior advised motorists to be fully aware of the advance signals from traffic lights, particularly the flashing indicators before and after a signal change, as these flashes alert motorists to prepare for either stopping or moving. The ministry explained that the flashing phase, which lasts for five seconds before the yellow and red signals, is a cue for motorists to get ready to stop in order to avoid stopping suddenly. It added that a flashing red light is a five-second alert to prepare for movement, not as a signal to begin driving soon. It stressed the need to avoid abrupt stops and to not proceed until the traffic light turns green, wishing everyone a safe journey.
