KUWAIT CITY, Dec 11: According to a consultant for internal and communicable diseases at the Adan Hospital Dr. Ghanem Al-Hujailan, the epidemiological situation in the country has stabilized, and the COVID-19 crisis has receded significantly. In a press statement issued yesterday, he indicated that the rise in influenza cases at this time of the year is normal, and does not constitute fear or anxiety of any kind. Dr. Al-Hujailan said the seasonal influenza infection rates rise at the beginning of the winter season every year. He revealed that the epidemiological situation is expected to stabilize in the country and the whole world by the end of 2024, but the epidemiological anxiety is expected to return in early 2025. Dr. Al-Hujailan indicated that a new epidemic emerges every five years, as it happened with the bird flu, swine flu, COVID- 19, and others.

Despite repeated warnings from the World Health Organization about the emergence of new strains of the COVID-19 virus and the high infection rates in China and many other countries around the world, Dr. Al-Hujailan confirmed that COVID-19 has become a thing of the past, and no longer poses any danger, like regular and seasonal influenza. In other news, the Assistant Undersecretary for Dental Affairs at the Ministry of Health Dr. Ahmed Asad announced the linking of the system of Jaber Al-Ahmad Specialized Dental Center with the automated system of Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital about radiology services, laboratory, pharmacy, and the entry and exit of patients to the hospital.

In a press statement issued yesterday, Dr. Asad said the completion of the linking process happened through cooperation between the dental and digital health sectors, within the framework of ongoing efforts to automate health services, and in implementation of the instructions of the Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi. He affirmed the continuation of health efforts to mechanize health services, revealing the completion of linking all centers and dispensaries affiliated with the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Health Zone to the Jaber Al-Ahmad Specialized Dental Center. Dr. Asad stated that automating health services and linking them digitally contributes to facilitating access to health data for patients, knowing medical history, drawing up a treatment plan, controlling the dispensing of medications, rationalizing the work of laboratory tests, and organizing various procedures for patient visits.
