KUWAIT CITY, Feb 7: The Food and Nutrition Public Authority has taken decisive action against food safety violations in the Al-Qurain Markets area, issuing four reports of unfit foodstuffs for human consumption, along with six pledges to rectify conditions. Additionally, a facility has been shut down, and 150 kilograms of food have been destroyed due to non-compliance with health regulations.
During an inspection tour conducted by the Food and Nutrition Authority, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governor Mahmoud Bushehri reaffirmed the governorate's unwavering support for the Authority's efforts. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the well-being of citizens and residents, applauding the Authority's dedication to health standards.
Governor Bushehri's presence during the inspection underscores the governorate's commitment to addressing concerns raised by the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition. He expressed his eagerness to collaborate with various sectors, including education, health, and agriculture, to ensure comprehensive oversight and accountability.
Dr. Saud Al-Jalal, Director of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Inspection Department, emphasized adherence to regulations during the inspection, with Governor Bushehri's active involvement demonstrating the seriousness of the endeavor. The ongoing tours aim to promote compliance, boost inspector morale, and facilitate inter-agency coordination to address challenges effectively.
Following thorough inspections, the Authority will submit recommendations to the appropriate authorities, with violations related to food safety referred to the prosecution for further action.
