KUWAIT CITY, Jan 26: A decree has been issued appointing the former Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah as advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office with the rank of minister following the approval by the Council of Ministers during last Monday’s session.

Government sources told Al- Rai that “Basil Al- Sabah will be responsible to follow up the files submitted to the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled.” It is noteworthy to make a mention here that Al-Sabah had taken over the Ministry of Health in December 2017 and continued in this position until December 2021. After leaving the government, he was praised by the political leadership for his efforts and dedication to serve the country during his tenure in office, especially for handling the Covid-19 pandemic and opening new facilities such as Jaber Al- Ahmad Hospital, Jahra Medical City and the new Amiri Hospital wing.
