KUWAIT CITY, July 8: The Criminal Court has ordered the arrest of former Member of Parliament Anwar Al-Fikr. He is facing charges related to challenging the rights and authorities of His Highness the Amir, encroaching on the position of the Amir, and broadcasting false news that could weaken the country’s prestige and harm its national interests. These charges stem from his posts on the social networking site "X" and statements made during his election seminars.

The court has scheduled a session for July 15 to allow Al-Fikr to present his defense. This case marks the second lawsuit against him currently being heard before the Criminal Court.
