Former MP Cleared of Residency Forgery Charges

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 10: The Criminal Court acquitted former MP Bader Sayyar Al-Shammari of charges related to forging expatriate residencies and official documents while working at the Ministry of Interior. He had denied the charges, asserting that signing the transactions was within his authority, but verifying them was the responsibility of employees before they were entered into the system. The case stemmed from a complaint filed by a Kuwaiti citizen, who accused the former MP of transferring the residencies of workers employed by him to the sponsorship of another company without their knowledge and demanded a seven-year prison sentence for the alleged offense.
