KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan announced that the ministry's teams will continue the comprehensive maintenance work on the Fourth Ring Road under new contracts. She emphasized the ongoing commitment to road maintenance projects across all areas, ensuring high-quality infrastructure that meets international standards.
In a press statement on Tuesday, Dr. Al-Mashaan explained that the relevant teams had inspected the area before commencing necessary repairs and maintenance. The work will begin in the most affected areas, with progressively less affected areas being addressed afterward, all under the supervision and oversight of the ministry's teams.
She further highlighted that the ministry's teams are distributed nationwide to monitor and address road network issues, ensuring problems in both internal and public roads are dealt with efficiently. Dr. Al-Mashaan reiterated the ministry’s dedication to providing the best services through its various sectors.
The ongoing maintenance projects are part of the ministry’s strategic plan to enhance the road network and provide a safe and sustainable environment for both citizens and residents. These efforts align with urban development goals and the growing transportation needs of the country.
Dr. Al-Mashaan emphasized the ministry's strong focus on overseeing all stages of the maintenance process, from design to completion, ensuring that internationally approved quality standards and technical specifications are met. This will guarantee the roads’ high performance and durability.
She also pointed out that the fast-track completion of maintenance works was in response to the directives of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, as part of the government's commitment to maintaining and repairing the country's infrastructure. Dr. Al-Mashaan stressed that infrastructure is a key pillar of any nation's economic vision.
The Minister further emphasized the importance of coordination to address outstanding issues related to road maintenance, urging implementing companies to complete their work swiftly and in accordance with the approved technical specifications and timelines.
Dr. Al-Mashaan proudly acknowledged the support of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for road maintenance projects, which will play a vital role in developing advanced infrastructure as part of the "New Kuwait 2035" vision.
Engineer Abdullah Al-Salem, Deputy Supervisor of the Fourth Ring Road Maintenance Project, also provided an update, stating that the work involves spreading an asphalt layer and adding polymer material over an area of 3,300 square meters.
He urged road users to stay informed about road closures through the General Traffic Department to avoid traffic congestion, asking for patience and cooperation with the authorities to ensure the timely completion of maintenance work.
