Game-changing road maintenance begins in Mangaf

KUWAIT CITY, April 10: Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan announced the continuation of extensive road maintenance work in Mangaf as part of the radical maintenance contracts for highways and internal roads. In a press statement issued yesterday, the minister explained that maintenance efforts would begin in the most severely affected areas and then expand to those with lesser damage. Teams from the Ministry of Public Works would oversee the implementation of the work.

Also, a committee has been formed to test and select engineers to ensure they have the necessary qualifications to supervise the maintenance quality. She affirmed that the ministry will continue to carry out road maintenance projects in all areas, and ensure strict adherence to quality standards and global specifications. Dr. Al-Mashaan also stressed that investing in infrastructure not only strengthens economic growth but also enhances the quality of life and supports sustainable development. Meanwhile, the Supervisor of contract No. 15 for the first zone in Ahmadi Governorate Eng. Abdullah Al- Kandari stated that ministry teams are currently in Mangaf Block 3 to assess the latest developments in the radical road maintenance work under the new contracts.

He explained that the work involves laying an 8 cm thick layer of Type 1 asphalt, cleaning the sewage network in Dhaher, carrying out major maintenance works on roads No. 250 and 240, and laying asphalt in Egaila Block 1. In a related development, Eng. Mohammed Al-Buraiki confirmed that cleaning and infrastructure repair work has been completed in Egaila, Fahad Al-Ahmad, and Mangaf. He explained that asphalt laying has been finished in Egaila blocks 3 and 4, as well as on the main road of Jaber Al-Ali, No. 102. Major road maintenance work is set to begin soon in Mangaf Block 4, and Fahad Al-Ahmad Block 1.
