KUWAIT CITY, Jan 23: The National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL) has announced that the "Gardenia" exhibition will take place on February 10 at the Kuwait National Museum. The event will feature a rich and diverse program of cultural and artistic activities.
Mohammad bin Redha, Acting Assistant Secretary-General for the Antiquities and Museums Sector at the council, stated in a press release on Thursday that this exhibition is held in collaboration with the National Council for Culture, marking a government partnership in line with the council's strategy to enhance cooperation with the private sector. The aim is to support and develop Kuwait’s cultural and artistic scene.
Bin Redha explained that the exhibition, which will run through the end of February, is the largest of its kind in Kuwait in terms of the variety of activities it offers. It will showcase significant art collections, including paintings from the National Council for Culture, as well as musical and folkloric performances in collaboration with the arts sector. The exhibition will also feature a section dedicated to agricultural products and outdoor garden-themed sessions.
Additionally, specialized workshops and seminars will be held alongside the exhibition, focusing on areas such as garden lighting design and urban planning. These sessions will provide a platform for learning and interaction with experts, emphasizing the exhibition’s role in promoting innovation and creativity in Kuwait while connecting cultural aspects with nature and the arts.
Bin Redha further noted that the Kuwait National Museum will host several distinguished exhibitions during the "Gardenia" exhibition, offering insights into Kuwait’s history and heritage. Among these will be the "Archaeological Discoveries Exhibition," which displays key artifacts discovered in Kuwait, shedding light on the country's ancient history and its civilizational significance across the ages.
The museum will also present the "Popular Heritage Exhibition," which highlights aspects of traditional Kuwaiti life, including daily life tools, clothing, handicrafts, and popular councils. This will offer visitors a chance to learn about the culture of Kuwait’s ancestors.
In addition, the Planetarium will feature engaging documentary and scientific shows, catering to visitors of all ages. These shows will educate the public about astronomy and nature in a fun and informative way, making the exhibition a perfect destination for those interested in both culture and science.
