MANAMA, Feb 12: A two-story building housing shops and residential flats in Arad collapsed, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. The Civil Defence swiftly responded to the incident, deploying 38 personnel and seven fire engines to manage the rescue and recovery operation. Emergency teams successfully rescued two individuals trapped under the rubble and transported them to the hospital, while four others sustained injuries.
Preliminary investigations by the Ministry of Interior indicate that a gas explosion may have triggered the collapse. Authorities have summoned the building owner for questioning and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident. Legal measures will be taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
