KUWAIT CITY, Dec 1: The ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, and the UAE to Kuwait have lauded Kuwait's diplomatic stature and its commitment to promoting joint Gulf cooperation, making it a fitting host for the 45th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit on Sunday.

In separate statements to KUNA, the ambassadors emphasized the summit's significance in fostering greater cooperation and integration among GCC countries, especially in light of the growing regional and international challenges.

They noted that the summit offers a strategic opportunity to enhance economic and security collaboration, bolster regional stability, and serve the interests of Gulf peoples, underscoring the importance of unified efforts to realize the aspirations of Gulf leaders and citizens for a brighter and more prosperous future.

Prince Sultan bin Saad Al Saud, the Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait, reflected on the progress achieved by GCC countries since the Council's inception, describing it as a model for security, development, and prosperity. He highlighted the Council's role as a source of wisdom and balance in regional and international affairs, driven by its geopolitical and economic weight.

Prince Sultan likened the GCC to a "shining star" born from deep-rooted ties uniting Gulf peoples over centuries. He praised the entity's accomplishments, which were made possible through the commitment of Gulf leaders and their citizens.

Qatar's Ambassador, Ali Al Mahmoud, underscored Kuwait's hosting of the summit as a reflection of the strong, historic bonds among GCC states. He highlighted the challenges facing the Council, including geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and economic diversification efforts.

He called for unified Gulf positions on pressing issues, such as ending the Israeli occupation's aggression in Gaza and Lebanon, reducing tensions with Iran, and addressing technological and cybersecurity challenges.

Saleh Al-Kharousi, the Omani Ambassador, emphasized the Council's steady progress over 43 years, resulting in significant development and integration that benefits Gulf citizens. He highlighted the role of Oman and other member states in fostering closer ties and achieving common aspirations.

Al-Kharousi expressed optimism for continued progress through strategic planning and concerted efforts, aimed at building on the GCC's accomplishments.

Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, the UAE Ambassador, noted the summit's importance amidst the complex global and regional challenges facing the Middle East. He emphasized the GCC's critical role in addressing issues related to politics, security, economics, and climate change, underscoring the need for continued cooperation.

Al Neyadi praised the GCC's achievements in enhancing regional integration, trade, and mobility, which have strengthened Gulf unity and economic development. He expressed hope that the summit would result in decisions to further enhance joint Gulf efforts and cooperation across various sectors.

The ambassadors collectively expressed confidence in the success of the Kuwait-hosted summit and its ability to advance Gulf unity and serve the shared interests of the region's peoples.
