RIYADH, April 16: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretariat General honored Kuwaiti nationals Othman Al-Jiran and Ghanima Al-Mutawa among 12 distinguished Gulf youth at a ceremony held under the slogan "Gulf Youth: Creativity – Leadership – Achievement." The event was attended by the Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi.

Agricultural engineer and entrepreneur Othman Al-Jiran told KUNA following the ceremony that he was recognized for his commitment to environmental issues, his initiative in community agricultural projects, and his role as a supervisor of sustainable agricultural programs both inside and outside Kuwait. He has also contributed to several greening projects across the country.

Al-Jiran described the honor as a strong motivation to continue his efforts and push for more innovation in his field. He expressed his gratitude to the Public Authority for Youth and the GCC Secretariat General for their support.

Similarly, Ghanima Al-Mutawa shared her pride in being selected, stating that her recognition was based on achievements through Seeds Academy in raising awareness and providing education on sustainability. She highlighted her participation in various initiatives, including the Green Development Pioneers Initiative, which was launched in collaboration with the Youth Authority.

“This honor fills me with pride and gratitude, especially as I stand among a distinguished group of young individuals representing the Gulf Cooperation Council countries,” said Al-Mutawa. “It inspires me to continue meaningful work in sustainability education and to contribute to shaping a generation that is aware, responsible, and capable of addressing the challenges of climate change while aligning with Kuwait’s Vision 2035.”

Al-Mutawa also extended her heartfelt thanks to the Kuwait Youth Authority and the GCC Secretariat General for their unwavering support.
