GCC Secretary General denounces Israeli remarks against Saudi Arabia
GCC Secretary General Jassim Al-Budaiwi

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Feb 9: The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Al-Budaiwi, strongly condemned the recent statements made by the Israeli occupation against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In a press statement issued on Sunday, Al-Budaiwi described these remarks as "dangerous and irresponsible," underscoring that they reflect the Israeli occupation's disregard for international and UN laws, treaties, and the sovereignty of states.

Al-Budaiwi reiterated the "firm and steadfast" stance of Saudi Arabia and the GCC member states in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He also highlighted the significant and ongoing efforts made by these countries in regional and international forums to advance the Palestinian cause.

The GCC Secretary General emphasized that this support is rooted in the necessity of achieving a two-state solution, ensuring Palestinian sovereignty over all territories occupied since June 1967. He stressed the importance of establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and safeguarding the right of refugees to return, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

Al-Budaiwi further called on the international community to respond "seriously and decisively" to the provocative statements of the Israeli occupation, which he stated pose a serious threat to the security and stability of both the region and the world at large.
