Kuwaiti shooters celebrate on the podium with other winners as the officials look after the awarding ceremony.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 12: Kuwaiti shooters achieved outstanding results at the annual His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah Shooting Championship and the ongoing Arab Shotgun Championship, held at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Range Complex with participants from 15 Gulf and Arab countries.

In the Arab Championship, Nasser Al-Muqalled claimed the gold medal in the men's individual "trap" competition, with his compatriot Abdulrahman Al-Faihan taking silver and Omani shooter Hussein Al-Shahoomi winning bronze.

In the team event of the same competition, the Kuwaiti team—comprising Al-Muqalled, Talal Al-Rashidi, and Al-Faihan—secured the gold medal. Oman, represented by Al-Shahoomi, Butti Al-Shabli, and Saud Al-Khatri, won the silver, while the Qatari team of Mohammed Al-Rumaihi, Rashid Al-Athba, and Ali Al-Athba took bronze.

In the women’s individual "trap" competition, Kuwaiti shooter Sarah Al-Hawal continued her team’s success by winning the gold medal, while Bahrain’s Marwa Buarki and Maryam Al-Sulaiti claimed silver and bronze, respectively.

In the team category for women’s "trap," Bahrain achieved its first gold medal through shooters Al-Sulaiti, Buarki, and Fatima Nasrallah. Kuwait's team, featuring Sarah Al-Hawal, Shahad Al-Hawal, and Reem Al-Zamanan, took silver, and Qatar's team of Maitha Al-Binali, Kholoud Al-Khalaf, and Amna Al-Abdullah won bronze.

In His Highness the Crown Prince’s Championship, a competition reserved for Kuwaiti shooters in individual events, Abdulrahman Al-Faihan captured the gold in the "trap" event, followed by Abdulaziz Al-Daihani with silver and Khaled Al-Mudhaf with bronze.

In the women's competition, Sarah Al-Hawal won gold, Shahad Al-Hawal won silver, and Reem Al-Zamanan claimed bronze.

Hamad Al-Namshan earned the gold medal in the men’s "10-meter air pistol" event, with Ali Al-Mutairi taking silver and Saad Al-Ajmi winning bronze. In the women’s "10-meter air pistol" category, Ghazlan Ali secured gold, Athari Al-Balushi earned silver, and Israa Bahman won bronze.

Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Hamoud, President of the Asian Shooting Federation and Honorary President of the Shooting Club, praised the high-calibre participation from Kuwaiti, Gulf, and Arab champions, which he said added strength to the competitions. He applauded Kuwait's shooters for their achievements and highlighted the role of the organizing committee, Public Authority for Sports, and state agencies in supporting the championship.

Obaid Al-Asimi, Secretary of the Shooting Club, expressed gratitude to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for his patronage, acknowledging his significant support for the championship.
