Gold Shops in Jahra Fined for Violating Exchange Policy

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8: An inspection tour of gold shops in Jahra Governorate by the joint team from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's Commercial Authority and Precious Metals departments led to the issuance of 7 violation reports. The violations were issued because some shops failed to display a sign outlining their exchange policy for consumers, as required by the regulation, which mandates that gold and precious jewelry can be exchanged within 24 hours of purchase. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry emphasized its crucial role in safeguarding consumer rights by strictly monitoring commercial markets and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. These inspections aim to promote transparency and clarity in shop dealings and to foster trust between merchants and consumers.
