Government Agencies Must Report Cybersecurity Threats Immediately

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: The National Cybersecurity Center has urged all ministries and government agencies to promptly report any electronic security threats, breaches, or vulnerabilities, whether actual or potential. This is to allow the center to mitigate potential dangers and respond to cyber attacks targeting government platforms and agencies.

The center emphasized the importance of following the Cabinet’s directive, which calls for all government agencies to collaborate and coordinate with the Cybersecurity Center in addressing cybersecurity incidents affecting government websites and electronic networks. This cooperation is essential to safeguarding government information security and preventing future cyber attacks.

Additionally, registration has opened for the "Kuwait Hackathon 2024," a cybersecurity competition for Kuwaiti youth, set to take place on November 30 at Kuwait University (Shadadiya) under the patronage of First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Youssef.

The competition, in collaboration with Coded Company, aims to inspire innovation and competition among Kuwaiti youth while enhancing their skills to contribute to the future of cybersecurity in Kuwait. Attractive prizes will be awarded to the winners.

The event will also feature a training camp from October 27 to November 14, workshops with international cybersecurity experts from November 17 to 20, and an informational session on November 28. The main competition will be held on November 30.
