KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26: The Ministry of Finance said that since the first day of the cyberattack, the Ministry of Finance’s systems have been isolated from the rest of the government agencies’ systems, reports Al- Seyassah daily. The ministry had formed a technical team consisting of several parties headed by the National Center for Cybersecurity, and with the assistance of a specialized international company that is relied upon by major international private and government agencies in combating this type of cybercrime.

It follows a strict and systematic framework to recover from the effects of the cyberattack that took place on September 18, 2023 and to follow up on everything new and everything related to this cyberattack and deal with it in the utmost professionalism. The Ministry of Finance confirms that all data related to the salaries of employees in government agencies is not stored in the ministry’s systems, and that the financial transactions for all government agencies are continuing and proceeding normally.

The ministry praises the national efforts of the technical team and workers in the Ministry of Finance who have continued to work around the clock since the first hours of the cyberattack until the present time. In conclusion, the Ministry of Finance urges those interested to obtain its news from its accounts on Twitter and Instagram @MOFKW and from reliable sources. The ministry also reserves the right to take legal measures against anyone who promotes incorrect news.
