KUWAIT CITY, July 13: In a recent development, Kuwait's government has taken decisive action under Decree No. 118 of 2024, withdrawing Kuwaiti citizenship from 30 individuals suspected of acquiring it improperly through dependency.

The decree, issued on July 8, follows a thorough review of constitutional provisions and an Amiri order issued on May 10, 2024. It invokes Article (13/4) of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 concerning the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its subsequent amendments. The decision was presented by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and subsequently approved by the Council of Ministers.

This move underscores ongoing efforts by Kuwaiti authorities to uphold the integrity of nationality verification processes and ensure compliance with legal frameworks governing citizenship acquisition.
