KUWAIT CITY, July 28: Government agencies have concluded the termination procedures for employees whose nationalities were revoked, following the receipt of lists from the Ministry of Interior and the Central Agency for Bedouns. These lists included the names of individuals affected by the nationality revocation decisions.

A government agency notified the Civil Service Commission that the services of those on the list of citizens whose Kuwaiti citizenship certificates were withdrawn have been terminated. Their data has been removed from the integrated systems, and a certificate of career progression for those whose services were terminated has been attached to the report.

In a related development, Decree No. 121 of 2024 was issued to withdraw Kuwaiti citizenship from certain individuals or those who had acquired it through dependency. The decree, published in the official gazette "Kuwait Alyom," stated that the citizenship withdrawal followed a review of the constitution, an Amiri order issued on May 10 of this year, and Article 2/13 of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1995 on the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its amendments. This proposal was made by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and subsequently approved by the Council of Ministers.

Paragraph 2 of Article 13 of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1995 on the Kuwaiti Nationality Law, referenced in the decree, stipulates that citizenship may be withdrawn from a Kuwaiti who acquired it under the provisions of Articles 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8 of the law if convicted within fifteen years of a crime that violates honor or trust.
