KUWAIT CITY, March 19: With the advent of the last 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has completed its preparations to host thousands of worshippers who will perform the night prayers (Qiyam) during these blessed nights. The administration of the Grand Mosque revealed that it is fully prepared to welcome the guests of the Almighty to commemorate the first of the last 10 nights. It pointed out that on the 20th night, reciters Omar Al-Damkhi and Abdulrahman Al-Shuwaie will lead the prayers; while Dr. Issa Al-Dhafiri will deliver the spiritual sermon. As the Grand Mosque is undergoing extensive preparations to ensure a spiritual and religious atmosphere that reflects the sanctity of these blessed nights, sources confirmed to the newspaper that the ministry has a comprehensive plan to guarantee the smooth and safe performance of worship. Sources said this plan is implemented through the coordinated efforts of various authorities; including the ministries of Interior and Information, as well as the medical emergency teams and volunteers.

They affirmed this ensures the organization and proper management of all activities in the last 10 days; adding that the ministry formed specialized teams and committees to work during these days, as it has been the practice over the years. Sources added, “Tasks were distributed to ensure the provision of all the services needed by worshippers like security, health, and media.” Sources disclosed “the Ministry of Interior will be responsible for regulating traffic and facilitating the movement of worshippers; particularly on the roads surrounding the Grand Mosque. This is aimed at reducing congestion and ensuring smooth entry and exit from the mosque, considering the huge turnout of worshipers it usually witnesses during these blessed days. The medical emergency teams will provide healthcare services by setting up clinics for men and women to deal with emergency cases quickly and efficiently while ensuring the comfort and safety of worshippers throughout the Qiyam prayers.

The Ministry of Information will broadcast the Qiyam prayers. A series of special religious programs will also be broadcast, including interviews with leaders and scholars, in addition to awareness sessions to highlight the virtues of the last 10 days of Ramadan and the importance of taking advantage of these days by performing acts of worship and practicing obedience.”
