KUWAIT CITY, Jan 14: The family of Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Jenny Alvarado, a domestic worker from Montalban, Rizal, was devastated after receiving the wrong remains from Kuwait. Alvarado’s family discovered that the casket sent to them contained the body of her Nepalese coworker instead, according to Philippine media reports. Alvarado, along with her Sri Lankan and Nepalese coworkers, reportedly died from coal suffocation on January 2 after inhaling smoke from a heating system.

However, the family raised concerns about potential foul play, claiming Alvarado’s body showed signs of physical trauma, including bruising on her face and mouth. The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait confirmed the deaths, while the Department of Migrant Workers has launched an investigation into the mix-up and is expediting the return of Alvarado’s remains. The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration has also extended assistance to the grieving family.
