KUWAIT CITY, Jan 8: The General Traffic Department, led by Major General Yousef Al Khadda, has reported a total of 324 major traffic accidents and 916 minor from December 30 of last year to Jan 5, 2023, reports  Al-Anba daily.

The weekly statistics highlight the outcomes of traffic campaigns, which resulted in the issuance of 21,924 various types traffic citations. Additionally, 37 juveniles were arrested for driving without license and were subsequently referred to the Juvenile Prosecution, and fines imposed on the owners of vehicles for allowing juveniles to have access to their vehicles.

Furthermore, the law enforcement authority arrested 83 people and impounded their vehicles for either committing breach of trust or involvement in judicial cases.

The traffic police detained 20 violators at various police stations for committing serious violations. The General Traffic Department also impounded 235 vehicles and 85 motorcycles and towed them to the ministry garage.
