Kuwait City, Dec 2: Demonstrating its commitment to fostering financial literacy among diverse segments of society, Gulf Bank continues to support the "Let's Be Aware" banking campaign for the third consecutive year. The bank actively shares awareness and educational materials through social media, its website, and various other media channels.

Under the supervision of the Central Bank of Kuwait in partnership with the Kuwait Banking Association, the Let's Be Aware “Diraya” campaign seeks to advance financial literacy, increase awareness of the banking sector's role, and assist individuals in optimizing the diverse services offered by banks.

Highlighting the significance of reinforcing security against electronic fraud, Mr. Mohammad Al-Hebeshi, Gulf Bank's Corporate Communications Officer, stressed the importance of employing the second authentication method for electronic devices and applications. He explained that the two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security, requiring individuals seeking access to an online account to input more than one password, thereby confirming the identity of the account or device owner.

Al-Hebeshi cautioned against the potential risks of neglecting security instructions in banking transactions and advised customers not to disclose account information or respond to messages from unknown sources, as it violates data confidentiality and banking protection measures.

Customers were encouraged not to disclose their banking information and to remain vigilant against deceptive tactics employed by fraudsters seeking to obtain their bank data or OTP. Al-Hebeshi recommended refraining from engaging with anonymous emails to avoid becoming a target of fraud. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of websites used for shopping, verifying electronic payment gateways, and avoiding potential fraudulent activities.

Highlighting Gulf Bank's unwavering commitment to supporting the Let's Be Aware “Diraya” campaign, Al-Hebeshi highlighted the widespread distribution of awareness messages across diverse media and social platforms. The primary focus is on educating both customers and the general public about safeguarding their banking data and information.
