Gulf Week in Kuwait showcases strong cultural bonds between GCC countries
Minister of Information during a tour of the 'Shining City'

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: Minister of Information and Culture, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Celebrating National Holidays and Occasions, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, emphasized that the Gulf Week, held as part of the "Shining City" activities in Subiya, reflects a commitment to strengthening fraternal ties between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and celebrating the shared cultural heritage that unites their peoples.

Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during the opening ceremony of Gulf Week on Friday, Minister Al-Mutairi highlighted that the event, under the auspices of the Permanent Committee for National Holidays and Occasions, showcases Gulf unity through art and heritage. He added that the participation of representatives from the embassies of GCC countries in this celebration further demonstrates the strong cultural bonds between these nations, particularly through the involvement of a distinguished folk band from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This, he noted, underscores the cultural strength and ties between the Gulf countries.

Minister Al-Mutairi stressed that such events are more than just celebrations; they serve as a message reflecting the depth of Gulf affiliation and the shared aspirations for the future. He expressed his gratitude to the Permanent Committee for National Holidays and Occasions and to all those who contributed to organizing the event, which embodies the spirit of pride and honor in Kuwait and its Gulf identity.

The ceremony was attended by a number of officials, including Dr. Nasser Muhaisen, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information; Dr. Mohammed Al-Jassar, Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters; along with other officials from the Ministry of Information, citizens, and residents. The Saudi Al-Jafr Folk Arts Band also performed, presenting a series of distinguished songs from the Gulf heritage.
