Legal actions eyed against those who fail to submit docus
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 5: The Ministry of Defense has asked all of its Bedoun military personnel to hand over to the Directorate of Non-commissioned Officers and Personnel Affairs in the Administration and Manpower Authority, the passports that were granted to them in accordance with Article No. 17, irrespective of whether they are valid or expired, no later than the end of this month, reports Al-Rai Daily.
The directives came in a bid to avoid legal actions taken against those who fail to submit their passports. Necessary procedures concerning such passports will be carried out through the Non-Commissioned Officers and Privates Directorate of the Ministry of Defense instead of the Citizenship and Passport Affairs Department in the Ministry of Interior. The ministry has set the mechanism for issuing passports to its employees which will be by submitting a letter, addressed to the Director General of Nationality and Passports, requesting the issuance or renewal of the passport for the military without his family.
Reasons
It explained that it must include the “reasons for the need to travel” and accompanying evidence issued by the Directorate of Noncommissioned Officers and Personnel Affairs, provided that the applicant has a valid ID Card for a period not less than three months.
The circular sent by the ministry in this regard explained that the application for obtaining or renewing the passport must also be accompanied by a copy of the birth certificate and a copy of the military ID, along with a medical report and the doctor’s appointment if the travel is for the purpose of treatment. In the event that a son is accompanied to finish the registration procedures at the university, a proof must be provided, in addition to a copy of the mother’s card and nationality if she is Kuwaiti.
The ministry’s circular stipulated that the application will be studied, the beneficiary will be identified, the validity of the security card and the health insurance will be checked, and that passports will be personally delivered to the deserving group in the Directorate of Noncommissioned Officers and Personnel Affairs.
