Hawalli security sweep: Over 30 arrests and 1,895 violations issued

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: The Ministry of Interior conducted a large-scale security operation in Hawalli, under the direct supervision of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen security and maintain public order. In a statement released today, Saturday, the General Department of Security Relations and Media announced that the campaign involved several departments, including the General Department of Traffic, the General Department of Rescue Police, and the Public Security Sector, with the support of the Special Security Forces. Female police officers also actively participated in bolstering security efforts across various levels.

The Ministry reported that the campaign led to the issuance of 1,895 traffic violations, the arrest of 32 individuals without identification, and 24 violators of residency and labor laws. Additionally, authorities seized 15 wanted vehicles and apprehended 15 individuals wanted for absconding, impounded nine vehicles and motorcycles, arrested 16 people with outstanding warrants, and detained two individuals for possession of intoxicating substances.

The presence of female police officers played a key role in improving the efficiency of the campaign, particularly in addressing violations involving women, reflecting the Ministry's commitment to ensuring a comprehensive security environment that caters to all groups.

The Ministry emphasized its ongoing commitment to conducting security and traffic operations as part of its broader strategic plan to enhance and maintain safety across the country. It reaffirmed its dedication to taking all necessary measures to achieve its security objectives with efficiency and effectiveness.
