Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi poses with the Sabah Al-Ahmad Health Center (Sector E) team during the inauguration of the new kidney dialysis unit.

KUWAIT CITY, July 25: In a significant move to enhance healthcare services, Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi inaugurated a new kidney dialysis unit at Sabah Al-Ahmad Health Center (Sector E). This addition marks the ministry's ongoing efforts to improve health services for citizens by overcoming obstacles and facilitating access.

In his statement during the inauguration, Dr. Al-Awadhi emphasized, “The opening of the kidney dialysis unit at Sabah Al-Ahmad Health Center (Sector E) underscores the ministry’s commitment to applying the highest standards of professional quality and patient safety.” The unit is equipped with 20 state-of-the-art dialysis machines and staffed by a specialized team of doctors and nurses.

Dr. Al-Awadhi noted that the unit has the capacity to serve up to 120 patients, significantly benefiting the approximately 25 regular dialysis patients from Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City by reducing their need to travel to Al-Adan Hospital thrice weekly. This development enhances patient comfort and reduces hardship.

Highlighting the ministry's dedication to modernizing health services, Al-Awadhi stated, “The Ministry is committed to providing the latest services and equipment and preparing specialized cadres to deliver integrated healthcare, elevating the standard of health services and always prioritizing patient care.”

Dr. Bassam Al-Hilal, Head of the Kidney Diseases Unit at the Mohammed Al-Khazam Kidney Diseases and Dialysis Center at Al-Adan Hospital, described the opening of the unit as a crucial step towards achieving comprehensive health coverage across Kuwait. He explained that this new center will offer top-notch services to kidney failure patients, easing the burden on the Mohammed Al-Khazam Center, which serves over 450 patients in the region.

Dr. Al-Hilal also mentioned that the opening of this unit follows the recent inauguration of the Ali Sabah Al-Salem Kidney Dialysis Center, which serves around 30 patients in that suburb. This expansion reflects the ministry's commitment to providing balanced and widespread healthcare services across all regions of Kuwait.
