KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: Dr. Hamoud Al-Zoubi, Director of the Department of Prevention and Combating Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases at the Ministry of Health (MoH), emphasized the importance of integrating field training with academic evaluation to prepare qualified public health professionals. He praised students' performance and highlighted the cooperation's goal of enhancing students' skills and fostering collaboration between the academic and health sectors.
Dr. Ahmed Salman, Professor of the "Practical Training in Public Health Practice" course, explained that the final exams were conducted jointly by the Ministry of Health and Kuwait University's College of Public Health. This partnership enriches students' ability to apply public health concepts in real-world settings. Dr. Salman also noted that the initiative aligns with the "New Kuwait 2035" vision, aiming to prepare national professionals capable of supporting community health and prevention efforts.
Dr. Fatima Bin Dhafari, Director of the Department of Health Services for the Elderly at MoH, emphasized the value of students' field projects in enhancing health services for the elderly. She added that the exams focused on assessing students' competencies in basic public health services. This collaboration between the ministry and the university seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, strengthening community health and disease prevention efforts.
