Kuwait Approves New Prices for 146 Medicines and Supplements
The Kuwait government approves new drug prices to enhance the healthcare system and lower costs.

KUWAIT CITY, March 12:  Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi approved the prices of 146 medicines, pharmaceutical preparations, and nutritional supplements in the private health sector on Tuesday. This decision was based on the recommendation of the ministry's drug pricing committee.

In a press statement, the ministry explained that this move is part of its efforts to improve control over medicines, pharmaceutical preparations, and nutritional supplements, and regulate their prices to ensure a balance between quality and cost.

The approval follows Ministerial Resolutions No. (45) and (46) of 2025, which emphasize the ministry's commitment to reviewing drug prices. This initiative aims to strengthen the healthcare system, control the cost of treatments, and alleviate the financial burden on patients.

The ministry added that the new pricing will be implemented immediately upon its publication in the Official Gazette. The medicines and preparations listed will be incorporated into Ministerial Resolution No. 74 of 2023 to ensure integration within drug policies and maintain stability in the country's drug market.

The ministry reaffirmed that the Drug Pricing Committee will continue its efforts to review and approve prices based on well-researched scientific and economic principles, thereby enhancing the economic efficiency of the pharmaceutical sector.
