KUWAIT CITY, Jul 5: The General Administration of Civil Aviation agreed to accept arrival of expats and their first degree relatives to the Kuwait International Airport for those who are under sponsorship of Ministry of Health even if their residence is expired.
The Director of Administration, Eng. Youssef Al-Fouzan in a circular issued yesterday stated that the residence will be extended of passengers carrying residence who are under sponsorship of the Ministry of Health, even if it is expired. The circular included entry to first-degree relatives of health workers.
An official source said that more than 1000 health personnel, who are employed as doctor - nurse - radiology technicians and laboratory staff were stranded abroad most of them from India.
Based on the request of the Ministry of Health it is necessary to facilitate the entry of medical staff who traveled to their countries before the Corona crisis began and were unable to return due to closure of air traffic from mid March. This step has been taken to support the medical staff currently working in Kuwait.
