KUWAIT CITY, July 11: The Meteorology Department reported on Thursday that maximum temperatures in Kuwait are expected to exceed 50 degrees Celsius in some regions, resulting in extremely hot weather during the day and hot conditions at night over the weekend.
Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi, Director of the Meteorology Department, informed the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the country is experiencing a severe heatwave accompanied by northwesterly winds, which will intensify on Saturday, causing dust and reducing horizontal visibility, particularly in exposed areas.
Thursday Weather
- Daytime: Very hot with light to moderate northwesterly winds at 8-30 km/h. Maximum temperatures will range between 48 and 52 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will be light to moderate with waves between 2 and 4 feet.
- Nighttime: Hot with light to moderate northwesterly winds at 6-30 km/h. Minimum temperatures will range between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will be light to moderate with waves occasionally rising between 1 and 4 feet.
Friday Weather
- Daytime: Very hot with moderate to active northwesterly winds at 12-45 km/h. There is a chance of dust in exposed areas. Maximum temperatures will range between 49 and 53 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will be light to moderate with waves between 2 and 5 feet.
- Nighttime: Hot with light to moderate northwesterly winds at 10-45 km/h, occasionally active. There is a chance of dust in exposed areas. Minimum temperatures will range between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will be light to moderate with waves between 2 and 5 feet.
Saturday Weather
- Daytime: Very hot and dusty with moderate to active northwesterly winds at 20-60 km/h. Maximum temperatures will range between 48 and 50 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will be light to moderate with waves sometimes rising between 2 and 6 feet.
- Nighttime: Hot with light to moderate northwesterly winds at 10-42 km/h, occasionally active, with a chance of dust. Minimum temperatures will range between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will be light to moderate with waves sometimes rising between 2 and 6 feet.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions due to the extreme heat and potential dust storms, particularly those in exposed areas.
