KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: The Taekwondo squad representing Al- Nassr Club has etched their names in history, securing the top spot in the men’s Union Cup Championship. They achieved this remarkable feat by capturing titles in every weight category at the tournament, which concluded just two days ago, marking an unprecedented achievement.

This remarkable accomplishment by the ‘Al-Anabi’ Taekwondo team was spearheaded by Khaled Al-Mutairi, who claimed the gold medal in the under 54 kg weight class. Ali Bourhama locked in the gold medal in the under 58 kg category, Badr Al-Mutairi earned gold in the under 87 kg division, Osama Al-Mutairi seized gold in the under 63 kg category, Salman Abdulaziz secured gold in the under 68 kg category, Musfir Al-Ajmi triumphed with gold in the under 74 kg category, Meshal Al-Mutairi emerged victorious with gold in the under 80 kg category, and Jaber Al-Fadhli clinched gold in the over 87 kg division.

Additionally, Yahya Al-Anzi claimed the silver medal in the under 54 kg category, Barak Al-Rashidi earned silver in the under 68 kg category, Ali Khalf secured silver in the under 63 kg category, Abdulaziz Al-Ajmi attained the bronze in the under 68 kg category, and Mohammed Al-Zafiri received the bronze in the under 58 kg category. Sultan Al-Mutairi, a member of the board of directors at Al-Nassr Club and the director of team sports, showered praise on the historic achievements of the Taekwondo champions from Al-Nassr Club in the Union Championship, where they left an indelible mark by winning gold across the board.

He remarked, “This unparalleled triumph serves as a testament to the unwavering commitment and support of the club’s management towards combat sports. It has paved the way for us to secure all titles in the Union Championship.” Continuing, he expressed his gratitude to the management of Al-Nassr Club, as well as the administrative and coaching staff, and extended a heartfelt thank you to the champion athletes who demonstrated their mettle as the fiercest competitors in the Taekwondo championship. He emphasized that ‘Al-Anabi’ remains a perennial champion factory, and the combat sports teams will persist in their journey to conquer more championships and titles in forthcoming events.
