Kuwait 3x3 Gulf Basketball champions display the Kuwaiti flag as they celebrate their win.

MUSCAT, March 3: Kuwait women’s youth basketball team clinched the 3x3 Gulf Basketball Championships with a decisive 21-5 victory over the Saudi team in the final match held in Muscat, Oman. This historic win marks the first Gulf Championship title for our women's team.

Representing Kuwait in the tournament were standout players Jaida Al-Issa, Widad Al-Zayed, Lulwa Al-Rasheed, and Manar Al-Mutairi. The Women’s Basketball Club showcased exceptional performance throughout the competition, ultimately claiming the championship.

In a parallel event, the Al-Arabi men’s basketball team emerged victorious in the men’s 3x3 basketball championship. They triumphed over Al-Nasr with a score of 21-13 in the final match, which took place at Al-Ittihad Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. The tournament, featuring the participation of nine clubs, witnessed Al-Qadisiya securing the third-place position by defeating Sulaibikhat with a score of 21-7 in the match preceding the final.

The Arab Club team, composed of Saqr Abdel-Rida, Fahd Malallah, Hassan Bormeh, and the American Thompson, showcased exceptional teamwork throughout the competition. The awards ceremony was presided over by Dhari Barjas, President of the Basketball Association, along with his deputy Mohsen Al-Sahmi and Awaid Al-Anazi, Assistant Secretary of the Federation and Chairman of the Trio Committee, who officially crowned the top three teams in the tournament.
