KUWAIT CITY, April 24: The Meteorological Department (MD) has predicted hot weather for the upcoming weekend, with temperatures soaring in the early evening and a slight moderation later in the night. The Director of the MD, Dharar Al-Ali, informed KUNA that the country will experience an extension of a high-pressure system, which will gradually recede, allowing a surface depression to move in. This depression will bring a hot air mass along with light to moderate southerly winds that are expected to be active intermittently, potentially causing dust storms, especially in open areas. Some scattered clouds will also appear.
Al-Ali noted that the weather on Thursday is expected to be hot, with variable northwesterly winds at light to moderate speeds ranging between 8 and 30 kilometers per hour. Some scattered clouds will be visible, and temperatures are anticipated to reach between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius. The sea will be calm to moderate, with waves ranging from one to three feet.
The weather tonight will be hot to moderate, with variable southwesterly winds blowing at light to moderate speeds between 6 and 30 km/h. Scattered clouds will be visible, and minimum temperatures are expected to range between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius. The sea conditions will be light to moderate, with waves ranging from 1 to 3 feet.
On Friday, temperatures will continue to rise, with clouds gradually increasing. Winds will shift from southwesterly to southeasterly, blowing at light to moderate speeds, ranging between 10 and 42 km/h, with a chance of dust. Maximum temperatures will range between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius, and the sea will remain calm to moderate, with waves ranging from 2 to 5 feet.
For Friday night, the weather will remain hot to moderate, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Southeasterly to variable winds will blow at light to moderate speeds, between 10 and 35 km/h, with a chance of suspended dust. Minimum temperatures will range between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius, and the sea will be calm to moderate, with waves between 1 and 4 feet.
Looking ahead to Saturday, Al-Ali forecasted hot weather with a cloudy to partly cloudy sky. Winds will shift between northeasterly and southeasterly, blowing at light to moderate speeds, occasionally picking up, with speeds ranging between 12 and 40 km/h. Maximum temperatures will be between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius, with the sea remaining calm to moderate, and waves ranging from 2 to 5 feet.
On Saturday evening, the weather will be hot to moderate, with partly cloudy skies and southeasterly to variable winds at light to moderate speeds, ranging from 8 to 32 km/h. The minimum temperatures are expected to range between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius, and the sea will remain calm to moderate, with waves between 1 and 4 feet.
