Hotel tip-off results in arrest of Gulf citizen with drugs, including Lyrica and hashish

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 31: The management of a hotel in Jahra helped uncover the possession of a dangerous drug cocktail by a Gulf citizen, leading to the arrest of the individual. The accused has been referred to the General Department for Combating Drugs.

According to a security source, the hotel management reported the presence of a suspicious bag belonging to one of the hotel guests. Upon inspection, authorities discovered the bag contained 187 Lyrica pills, 14 small pieces of hashish, and five needles with an unknown substance, believed to be heroin, ready for use.

In a separate incident, a 25-year-old man was detained at the Al-Shamiya Police Station. Detectives were tasked with tracking down two other individuals who were with him but managed to escape.

The arrested man was also charged with driving a vehicle in an abnormal condition and without license plates, as well as attempting to flee from authorities. According to a security source, a patrol unit spotted a luxurious white American vehicle without plates in the Shuwaikh commercial area. When the driver was instructed to stop, he attempted to escape but was arrested. Meanwhile, two other young men fled on foot, disappearing into the crowd of cafes, restaurants, and shops in the area.
