How to identify drug addiction

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: The Drug Control General Department (DCGD) at the Interior Ministry recently issued guidelines on how to determine if someone at home is a drug addict, indicating drug abuse is considered a detestable crime and is socially rejected. The department enumerated seven methods to identify a drug addict at home as follows:
Persistence to do anything to obtain drugs, as the desire to do so increases due to repeated drug consumption.
Repeated loss of money or any household belongings, especially valuables.
Chronic lying, deception, and fraud; as a drug addict is a habitual liar, his statements are contradictory, he exhibits symptoms of deception, and does not hesitate to engage in fraud and deception, because he cannot face reality.
Appearance of new and unfamiliar friends, because a drug addict needs to make new friends due to drug use.
Continuous and unjustified absence, as a drug addict disappears for hours or even days without any valid reason.
Spending a lot of money, as a drug addict searches for drugs in an unusual way and without any explanation.
Inability to estimate the distance; for example, a drug addict might cross the street without feeling he is doing so, because the drugs made him lose focus.

The department urged everyone to call the number 1884141 in case of any inquiry or to provide information, affirming it guarantees the confidentiality of such calls
