DOHA, Sept 4: The 20th meeting of the Committee of Ministers and Heads of Civil Service and Administrative Development Agencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) focused on supporting human resources programs, according to Dr. Issam Al-Rubaian, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Civil Service Commission, on Tuesday. Al-Rubaian informed Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) and Kuwait TV that the meeting also addressed the support for competencies, as well as their qualification, training, and recognition. Additionally, discussions were held on the GCC's strategy for civil service and human development for the period from 2026 to 2030.
Al-Rubaian, who led the Kuwaiti delegation at the meeting, highlighted that one of the key topics discussed was Kuwait's hosting of the next meeting in September 2025. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the State of Qatar for hosting the 20th meeting.
In a speech earlier at the opening of the meeting, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, noted that Gulf countries have secured the top Arab positions and achieved high global rankings in government efficiency and infrastructure, according to the 2024 Global Competitiveness Ranking Report issued by the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland.
