KUWAIT CITY, July 9: The National Bureau for Human Rights has submitted a number of recommendations to the administration of correctional institutions, most notably the use of electronic bracelet to include the largest number of prisoners, and the need to work on the completion of the new prison project that was put forward since 2013, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Meanwhile, semi-annual report of the Permanent Committee for Complaints and Grievances at the bureau revealed that the committee received 67 complaints from January 1 to June 30 – 35 complaints from citizens and 32 from non-Kuwaitis. According to the report, of which the daily obtained a copy, these complaints were distributed as 12 labor complaints, 5 complaints related to administrative deportation of expatriates, 12 complaints of people with disabilities, and 5 complaints of abuse of power, in addition to a number of other complaints. In its recommendations, the committee demanded the need to allocate a financial pension for prison workers in order to encourage them to join the correctional institutions sector, given the nature of work and the difficulty of dealing with prisoners, as well as the involvement of the National Bureau in committees formed to investigate issues related to human rights.
