KUWAIT CITY, July 22: In a concerted effort to address traffic challenges and enhance public transport services, the Supreme Traffic Council held its 21st meeting under Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior. The meeting brought together members from various ministries and agencies concerned with traffic. Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf underscored the importance of fostering cooperation and coordination between governmental and civil bodies to develop effective strategies for improving traffic flow. He emphasized that the security leadership is committed to considering all proposals contributing to smoother traffic. These proposals may include innovative engineering ideas for roads and intersections, increased awareness and education efforts, or stricter penalties.

During the meeting, Brigadier Salem Al-Ajmi, Secretary of the Supreme Traffic Council, along with the Chairman of the Public Transport Committee, presented a detailed visual report. The presentation highlighted the committee’s observations on the negative aspects and defects that have led to the decline and deterioration of public transport services, particularly bus services, in Kuwait. The report included a comprehensive set of proposals and recommendations aimed at improving and developing public transport services for the benefit of both citizens and residents. (KUNA)
